We’ll dive deep into a specific topic or trend on our radar and call upon PopTech’s rich network for their diverse viewpoints – and we’ll reach out to experts and thought leaders whose topical insights will help shape each issue.
In this edition, Person-to-person: Social contagion for social good, we’re exploring if and how we can harness social contagion for social good:
James Fowler provides tips on the science of spreading the word;
Rita Colwell recounts how folding saris is helping fight cholera;
Duncan Watts describes what we know – and don’t know – about social contagion;
Sinan Aral explores how we’re influenced by our social network;
Gary Slutkin describes how CeaseFire interrupts violence by spreading the message;
and much more!
Enjoy - and let us know what you think of this first Edition in the comments below.

Check it out!

The Lab will bring together a carefully chosen network of climate researchers, gender experts, social innovators, technologists, designers, and community champions, to explore new possibilities in this domain. Our goal is to move “beyond the white paper” to identify and collaborate on high-potential new approaches that can be tested, scaled, and implemented.

I’m not headed to Kenya with the gang, but I’ll be jamming with ‘em from this side of the pond.

Little Talks - Of Monsters And Men

Mmm, this tune is so fresh and tasty. One of my favorite things about traveling across the country is picking up new music from amazing people!

Yet another reason to love Iceland! The day we announced PopTech Iceland I had a special Opera House track list (for entry and exit during the conference breaks) that was compiled exclusively of Icelandic bands. The mix was wicked fun to research and this was one of the tracks that made the cut.

Check out this video to see him in action, take a closer look at the finished piece and watch his PopTech stage talk for more insight into his work.

Loving all the offstage and behind the scenes shorts PopTech produced for this year’s conference in Camden.

I had my portrait drawn by Aikon II last night at the closing night party of this year’s PopTech conference.
